Taiwan's Lifestyle and Leisure
![]()
Welcome to Virtual Taiwan's Lifestyle and Leisure Section!
This site is divided into the following nine areas:
Taiwan A2Z

This is a single file that provides a light-hearted look at local life as seen through expatriate eyes. It could just as easily go in the following section.
The Foreign Community

This section is designed to help people network with the foreign community by providing information on the various organizations that can assist foreigners; sub-categories include: schools, churches, foreign community organizations, clubs as well as shopping tips.
Fun Places - Funstuff

The funstuff section provides an insight into some of the favorite places frequented by foreigners and how to get there. It can also be used for PR – such as our page on Warner Village cinemas; or link to tourism related sites. The emphasis is on places rather than businesses.
Taiwan Maps

This section should really be expanded but includes a section on historical and contemporary maps of Taiwan. There are a few maps that we have in our files that have not so far been included. Ideally we should try to do a deal with somebody to create or use existing maps on a promo basis. Is anyone in the Philippines doing vector mapping?
Photoalbum

The photoalbum section goes here. It should be a thmbnail repository of all the digital photographs for which we hold the copyright and which could in time be developed as a custom photobank for commercial use. In the meantime it provides a taste of local life as well as a library of available photos that can be used on the site.
Best Bars in Taiwan

This and the following section has the potential to be developed commercially as part of a general Virtual Pub entertainment guide with Night Owls
Good Grub - Good Places To Eat In Taipei

Some recommended favorite restaurants – again has the potential for development as a product.
Art Gallery

This section is designed to showcase digital artists including our own team. While of interest in its own right, it also provides a medium for our own design team to demonstrate their capabilities as artists.
Historical Archives

Here we place historical books and documents of interest. So far we only have one book on our site – Formosa 1896 but we have several others waiting to be scanned in. This could be developed as a “virtual bookshop” in which we sell online e-books as well as act as drop-shipper for hard copy volumes – back to our discussion the other day about doing a deal with someone in the trade.
