World Class Super-Yachts from the Philippines
While
the Philippines Government seeks to carve
out a niche for the country in the world of
high tech and information technologies, other
companies are forging a path in terms of craftsmanship
and design excellence. One such area is in
the building of luxury super-yachts for the
world market.
Ocean Pacifico Services Inc. (OPSI),
founded in 1994, is an established proven
builder of luxury super-yachts for discerning
international buyers who demand excellence
in every detail. The company president, Mr.
Peter Cannon is an Australian with over 40
years engineering experience. OPSI is located
at Subic Bay in the Philippines and is operated
by offshore corporations.
Mr. Cannon believes that building in Asia
provides many advantages and that quality
of workmanship can be maintained here to the
highest international standards. In less than
10 years, OPSI has become known for building
yachts equal to the best offered by European
and North American shipyards at significant
savings in terms of overall cost. Proof of
the demanding standards established and maintained
by OPSI is evidenced by inspection of the
super-yachts already built as well as currently
under construction.
OPSI is well equipped to carry out all operations
for the building of luxury motor-yachts "in-house"
and standard of workmanship is accredited
by Lloyds Register of Shipping.
The current workforce is a mix of European
and Australian expatriates in key technical
areas together with a core staff of some seventy
skilled Filipino craftsmen. The Management,
Administration and Quality Assurance Teams
are all highly skilled and effective long-term
officers of the company. Employees have sound
technical and trade experience founded on
US naval discipline and international standards.
Many were hand trained in modern ship repair
and building of Naval Class ships by the US
Navy.
OPSI can build two super yachts concurrently
to a maximum combined length of 90 meters.
The main assembly bay is fitted with large
doors at each end to allow finished yachts
to be transported, on multi-wheel cradles,
onto the adjacent deepwater wharf for launching.
The main area is complemented on either side
by smaller "bays". All work is carried
out within the building until launching.

A
European Connection
OPSI was commissioned to build ocean-going
super-yachts after forming an association
with a leading European super yacht designer
as well as other European and US chandlers
and suppliers of quality marine equipment.
Since inception, OPSI has successfully completed
two 38 meters super-yachts, which were launched
in 2001 and completed in 2002. The first of
these new yachts - "Inca Rose" was
customized to the requirements of its owner
while the second yacht, "Ligaya"
was fitted out to OPSI "In House"
specifications.
In full recognition of the capacity of the
yard and the capabilities of the highly trained
workforce, the keel of a further 40 meter
super yacht was laid in late 2002 and construction
is currently in progress. OSPI yachts are
designed to comply with the latest requirements
of M.C.A. and Lloyds Rules & Regulations
(mono G.G. & Special Service Craft Yacht
Compliance). All OPSI yachts are built to
give both owners and ship captains a most
powerful sense of freedom and of reliability
in the grandest style possible.
OPSI luxury super yachts offer the highest
quality in technology, materials, equipment,
finish and comfort. Devoted craftsmanship
has prevailed with the planning, lofting,
fabrication, and assembly, engineering, fit-out
and custom paint finishing. Quality assurance
is maintained down to the finest detail and
highest standards, designed to ensure that
the client receives a most superior yacht.
Luxury from Stem to Stern
Indeed, OPSI's super-yachts provide the ultimate
in super luxury from stem to stern. Not only
will the owner and guests enjoy superb comfort,
this same level of detail can be found throughout
the vessel - from the finest Italian marble
bathrooms, classic timber and extensive use
of stainless steel, the owners suite, guest
cabins, sun lounge, formal entertaining area
and dining salon are all finished with the
warmth of hand-selected seasoned timber and
leather complemented by the finest fabrics
and original artworks and paintings commissioned
especially for each vessel.
The sundeck, with its jacuzzi and barbecue
area has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere,
ideal for outdoor dining and entertainment.
The sun lounge is a perfect place to lounge
around in air-conditioned comfort and have
a drink at the bar. This area opens onto the
boat deck, which accommodates the yacht's
two tender boats. For more active fun and
a touch of adventure head down to the swim
platform for some scuba diving or a spot of
game fishing.
The wheelhouse, fully equipped with state
of the art technology has been fitted out
to create a calm environment, perfect for
the captain to ensure the safety and smooth
running of the yacht at all times.
OPSI stands for the finest quality both inside
and out. The result, its craftsmen and yachts
have achieved an everlasting classic beauty
and finish that is the envy of its European
and North American competitors. OPSI strives
continuously to improve technology, design,
quality and craftsmanship in the knowledge
that its clients must have the best.
