Vehicle Tax Rulings Again Deferred
Regulations
that would tighten the current excise-tax
exemption privileges enjoyed by 10-seater
vehicles have again been deferred - this time
until June 6 instead of May 19 when the new
regulation was due to come into force. The
deferment is intended to give time for the
Congress to pas legislative amendments that
would change the basis of automobile taxation
from engine displacement and fuel type to
a price-based taxation.
Originally the new rules were intended to
be in place during February.
